How to Select the Correct ProtecBar Cover for Door Handles

Choosing the correct ProtecBar cover depends on three factors: door opening direction, door handle manufacturer, and color. Follow the guide below to ensure you order the correct cover for your door.

1. Determine the Door Opening Direction

First, identify which way your door opens.

  • Door opens to the left: Order a Left Push Bar Cover.
  • Door opens to the right: Order a Right Push Bar Cover.
  • Pull Bar Covers: These are interchangeable and fit both left- and right-hand doors.

2. Identify the Door Handle Manufacturer

ProtecBar covers are designed to fit specific door handle manufacturers. Before ordering, determine whether your handle is made by YKK, Rockwood, or Conier.

Push Bars

  • YKK: Features a distinctive S-shaped bend on one end.
  • Rockwood & Conier: Straight across and interchangeable.

Pull Bars

  • YKK: Angled sharply at both the top and bottom.
  • Conier: Measures 9 inches between the center of the mounting holes.
  • Rockwood: Measures 10 inches between the center of the mounting holes.
